A competitive but sporting fixture at home saw Andover pair Isaac Robinson and Montgomery Johnston win 4-2 at Era Park. Isaac faced the Colden Common number 1 winning 6-1, 6-3, moving his opponent around the court and finishing points cleanly behind a solid serve. Monty pushed the Colden Common number 2 in a battling first set display, despite mounting an attacking fight back in the second, he eventually lost out to the more defensive visitor 5-7, 4-6.
The doubles decider served up a real treat for the home fans. Monty and Isaac overwhelmed their Colden Common counterparts, combining deep ground strokes with clean volleys at the net. The Andover duo showed plenty of potential as a pair and won the decider 6-1, 6-3 (match 4-2 overall). Well done boys!
